Using traditional techniques and a contemporary approach – that is what young designer Hana Frišonsová specializes in. Her collections fuse traditions and futurism, individuality and self-expression, they always contain expressive as well as functional pieces. A frequent participant of the Fashionclash festival in Maastricht, she was awarded the Erste Bank Fashion Award in Vienna, took part in the International Fashion Showcase 2014 during London Fashion Week and was nominated for the Fashion Designer of the Year award at the Czech Grand Design 2014 awards.
‘My new spring/summer 2016 collection was created together with artist Věra Vtípilová - both of us respond to each other’s work. It is represented for example in the digital prints, screen prints, appliques as well as in the cut,’ Hana introduces her new work based on an invented dystopian story about people from a dump. ‘Those people – afflicted by chemicals, hormones and various diseases – are searching for a way out from this depressing world through love and are trying to build a new home from the ruins.’
