Lucie Jelínková and Monika Nováková create under the Awkward brand. In 2012, the duo won the Start-Up completion at Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Weekend with neon dinosaur pumps. Last year, they also introduced accessories at MBPFW – the King of Pop collection, whose main motive is again a dinosaur, this time in the form of sparkling jewellery.
The duo has created two complex collections so far - Lisbeth Salander and Rococo inspired by Marie Antoinette’s style.
In 2014, Monika and Lucie took part in the Voyage Through Central Europe exhibition at International Fashion Showcase, the official side platform of London Fashion Week.
Awkward fashion is characterised by its “pop” tinge, underground overlap, comprehensibility and playfulness.
