After graduating in Fine Art in 2009, Melania studied a Superior Degree in Textile and Fashion Design at the University of Vigo (Galicia, Spain). This background allowed her to continue developing her work in very different creative fields, such as theatre costume design collaboration with Voadora company in 2017, or starring as art director and art assistant in two film projects during the past year. She still working on her own art project, based on the study of the sensible charge and the communicational capacity of Galician traditional textiles, and participating in collective and individual exhibitions.
Her first contact with the fashion field was at the Belgium brand CHRISTIAN WIJNANTS, where she did a six month internship at the Pattern making and creative department in 2017. There she learned about how to experiment with draping to create complex patterns in order to reinforce subtle concepts through a fashion collection.
She won the last edition of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Talent Award for young designers celebrated at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Madrid, where she submitted her Final Degree Project "I bought a David Hockney postcard".
Melania is currently working as fashion designer in ZARA WOMAN BASIC (INDITEX).
